How Lucky Finn began

Lucky Finn started with a love of fish, a lot of questions and the excitement of learning something new.

Based in Canberra, Lucky Finn is run by Finn, a young aquarist who wanted to understand how fish are bred, raised and cared for - not just bought. With guidance, research and a hands-on approach, Lucky Finn has grown into a small breeding project built on patience, observation and respect for aquatic life.

Our approach

At Lucky Finn, breeding happens on a small scale, allowing time and attention for each stage of growth. Fish and shrimp are raised in controlled environments, monitored closely and given the best chance to thrive before moving on to their new homes.

Being locally bred means fish are already accustomed to Australian water conditions, helping support healthier transitions into aquariums.

From little fins to big fins, everything here is about learning, growing and doing things with care.
