FAQ
-
Where are Lucky Finn fish bred?
All Lucky Finn fish and shrimp are bred and raised in Canberra. Breeding locally allows fish to grow in stable conditions and helps them acclimatise to Australian water before moving to their new homes.
-
What species do you currently breed?
Lucky Finn is currently breeding albino bristlenose catfish and freshwater shrimp. These species were chosen as a starting point while the breeding program grows. Additional tropical species will be introduced over time as experience and capacity increase.
-
Are Lucky Finn fish suitable for home aquariums?
Yes. Lucky Finn fish are raised with home aquariums in mind, including community tanks and planted aquariums. Each species is bred and raised carefully to support good health, calm behaviour and smooth transitions into new tanks.
-
Do you supply aquarium shops?
Yes. Lucky Finn supplies small batches of locally bred tropical fish to aquarium shops in Canberra and surrounding regions. Because the breeding program is small-scale, availability can vary. Shops are encouraged to get in touch to discuss current or upcoming stock.
-
How are Lucky Finn fish raised?
Lucky Finn focuses on small-scale, careful breeding. Fish and shrimp are raised in controlled environments, monitored closely and given time to grow steadily. This approach supports healthier fish and allows close attention at each stage of development.
-
Will you be breeding more species in the future?
Yes. Lucky Finn is a growing breeding project, and new species will be added gradually. Each new species is introduced thoughtfully to ensure the same level of care, curiosity and attention remains at the heart of the breeding program.
